bikerumor pic of the day Altai Republic, Russia

Photo submitted by Kirill Rodionov, “Here’s a pic from our bike/hike trip 3 weeks ago: Riding down from the Kara-Tyurek (‘Black heart’ in the indigenous language) Pass, 3060m, in the Altai Republic, Russia. Carried our bikes uphill for roughly 1km elevation gain, then rode some (ahem) of the way down to the other side.”

We always love to see your photos and would like to show them to the world here on the Pic Of The Day. Send in your photo with a brief description here.

Beautiful! The Altai Republic is an amazing and rarely explored region in central Russia. We added it to our Silk Route tour and the photos I’ve seen have all been stunning.

it’s actually overrun with tourists, atleast in summer 🙂
not all the valleys, of course, but even some places with only foot/horseback access are crowded this time of year
