Judging by the computer mount holding a giant cobblestone suspended in their booth, K-Edge was already proud of the strength of their mounts. Now they’re getting even stronger. As part of a refresh on the design that will be rolled out January 1, K-Edge is introducing a few improvements that will not only make the mount better but will improve manufacturing efficiency as well.

If that doesn’t get you excited, perhaps their new GoPro mounts or CX1 chain guide will…

Due to the fact that the original computer mount used a one piece lower arm, it required a tremendous amount of machining time and therefore wasn’t very cost-effective to produce. The new version will move to a three piece design that includes a new hinged clamp for easier installation. The ability to produce a single clamp and attach various models will cut down on the machining time but it will also allow K-Edge to offer more options like the new 35mm clamp. Each extension is attached to the clamp with two permanent bolts that are not designed to be user interchangeable. The new mounts will be 5g heavier but the increased stiffness and strength plus the hinged clamp should be a good trade-off. Mounts will be available in both 31.8 and 35.0mm.

Now that GoPro and other cameras are using a centered Mount, K-Edge is following suit with a centered camera mount of their own. Now K-Edge camera mounts will be available in short, centered, and off centered versions.

First we saw the 1x chain ring wave, and now we’re starting to see the 1x chain guide wave. As many companies are pointing out, [in this case] 52g is pretty cheap insurance against a chain derailment that could cost you the race. The K-Edge CX1 guide will be available in braze-on, clamp, and eventually an ISCG mount to cover all bases for $129.

$130 for a chain guide. There are eBay options for $20 that will do 95% of what this mount does. I mean holy hell who buys this stuff.

Why would I want OR NEED a CX1 chain guide? Isn’t the narrow wide chain / front ring and clutch out back enough?

Man I wish someone fabs up a NiteRider mount for 35mm bars… I like the option of these multitasking clamps, camera or light with computer, but I just want a simple 35mm clamp!

@CX1 Lover, Check out Calvin’s corner to see a good overview of narrow wide tech and when it can drop a chain. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFsVyq0fczU

I’d like to see how an Edge 520 fits on these mounts.
