Wow, this is not going to suck. My biggest concern is if all of their current mounts and cases will still work with this one? Also if there will be a big price jump but dang the current ones are pretty awesome still!!

Hopefully they hired a UI person before this thing was developed. I wish Apple bought them out instead of Beats.

Based on the e-mail sent to those who visited their booth at Interbike, the official announcement may be on October 6th.

@pernicious I’m glad apple didn’t buy them. The connectors and mounts would become proprietary.

i agree i dont care about 4k 30fps. nearly nobody plays 4k. i care about battery life of that camera right now. it needs like twice the battery life. I also care about better lens, lighter camera.

@muf – the battery is going to be removable so that at least partially solves the problem of battery life. Just take 2 battery packs with you and switch them during the ride. Most rides/records are shorter anyway so it’s a good solution to keep the weight low without problematic sacrifices.

I just want 1080p at 560 fps. Forget 4K. This gopro is going to have to be incredible to make me not want the new sony cam.

From what I gather, few developers even have software to edit 4k. Hardware way ahead of software. Five years…maybe?

In case you didn’t know, 1080 is a dying resolution, just like SD was back in the day. 4K will be the new norm, which is why virtually every camera company is producing 4K capable cams.

I think it’s pretty funny how so many are caught up in the whole POV cam marketing scam.

exceptional athletes backed by quality editing make for great vids.

weekend warrior with a beer belly and no editing skillz is the harsh reality though…
