For their new Factory Level builds, Intense Cycles has been sourcing nothing but the best. For their Tracer, Carbine, and Spider, that meant Rockshox suspension, SRAM drivetrain, and Enve wheels, but the needs of a DH bike are a little different.
They started with their aluminum 951, which is built in their US factory, and decked it out with some mean green components….
The handlebars, stem, pedals, and wheels are all Wasabi Green bits from the Spank catalog.
Suspension duties are performed by DVO. The Southern California based company’s products are designed to maximize tinker-ability (my term, not theirs).
The drive train is SRAMS new DH specific 7 speed X01. The production model of this bike will have Saint brakes, but the model on display had Zee stoppers. The complete DVO bike will retail for $7,900, but you can also pick up a frame and fork package for $4,800.
….And just because we like to put the Rumor back in BikeRumor sometimes, we had to ask Sales and Marketing Coordinator Jennifer Gabrielli about the development of a new DH platform, since Intense just announced it’s developing a top level World Cup DH Team. She wasn’t very forthcoming with details, but did say that a brand new carbon downhill race bike was in the works!
Also on display was a new color of the Hard Eddie XC Hardtail. The frames set retails for $1,799 but the Foundation Bike (their entry level kit) retails for $2,999.
