Introducing Bikerumor Recap – Monthly Digital ‘Zine of All Our Content!

Bikerumor Recap digital cycling news magazine

We post a lot of content here, and sometimes the pace is a little too fast and furious for even our most diehard readers.

With that in mind, we’re pleased to introduce Bikerumor Recap, a new digital “magazine” that rounds up each month’s posts in a tidy summary, complete with links and images. Plus, it’ll showcase a bit of original content to cover the themes, trends and goings on in the industry.

We’re pretty proud of this first edition, and we’d love to hear your thoughts on it. There’s no doubt it’ll evolve and improve, and we’re already looking at new ways to deliver it to various devices, mobile and otherwise. At the moment, it’s a humble PDF, but it’s viewable anywhere you can read a PDF. Download it or view online here:

A couple of notes:

  • We’ve tested on Kindle, iBooks and basic PDF viewers. The links work in PDF readers and iBooks, but not on Kindles or in the Kindle iOS app. We’re working on it.
  • The file is about 27mb, but it’ll look much better if you download it than if you read it within Box’s online window.
  • If you’re viewing it in some other app or program, please leave a comment and let us know what you’re using, and  how it looks and works.

That’s great. Really like having a monthly digest

This is a very good idea. I read the website everyday and I still miss some stuff. Now I can have a monthly review. Thanks guys. My only complaint with the industry would be, who can afford some of this stuff.

FYI, your Box account is out of bandwidth. Thanks for putting this together!

Jason – Thanks, we’ll update the post. Issuu should still be open for biz!

Is there any RSS feed just for this recap? I was just about to drop off the RSS feed as the firehose is just too much for me, but would love to have this automatically find its way to me once a month as the BR content is still brilliant.

Rob – Not that we know of, but you could follow us on Twitter and Facebook, both of which update with every post. That’ll keep you informed of anything you’d like to learn more about without using the RSS. Or, sign up for our email list…those are only once a week (usually).

All – currently working on a completely interactive version and putting it into Apple Newsstand…and it’s going to be killer. Only downside for the May Recap is we have to wait for app approval to make it available. It’s coming, and we’ll post just as soon as it’s available. That’ll also allow you to automatically download as a subscription, and each link will open a window directly within the magazine window, making it super easy to read any post you want! Really excited about this, can’t wait for you all to see it!
