WTF? Vigurvant Foldout Pedal Extensions Turn Any Bicycle Into a Tandem

Vigurvant tandem bicycle pedal extensions

Let’s say you have a friend. It’s a sad friend because they don’t have a bike of their own. But you’re a good friend. And you have a rack on the back of your bike. Fortunately, it’s a rack capable of holding 150 or more pounds. So you decide to let your friend ride on the back of your bike. After all, riding on the handlebars like we did when we were kids just isn’t safe as adults.

After a short while, you realize your friend is heavy. They’re making it hard to get around town. Basically, they’ve become a freeloader. If only there were a way to let them help you pedal…

These would look great on a Wal Mart fat bike!

RUSTYDOGG - 03/27/13 - 2:40pm

I need to get out more. I didn’t even know people did that.

Xris - 03/27/13 - 2:42pm

If you like these just be careful? It’s illegal to double ride in Toronto unless its a tandem.

I think the look on that dude’s face says enough.

Anybody ever seen a rack that’s rated to 150lbs?

Caught in a landslide.

off-roadie - 03/27/13 - 4:53pm

Hopefully they make an SPD version next

Canucklehead - 03/27/13 - 4:57pm

No escape from reality

Scott - 03/27/13 - 7:08pm

When I was touring Holland, I saw a dude in tails and a top hat with a lady on a ball gown on his rack. SHe had it all bundled expertly in her lap to avoid the wheels and chain.

David - 03/27/13 - 8:48pm

Can you say “future lawsuit”?

Snap - 03/28/13 - 2:59am

That’s all well and good, but we need one on which the passenger can do the fandango.

Wombat - 03/28/13 - 3:30am

Because I’m easy come (off) easy go (off the back)

Vassilis K. - 03/28/13 - 5:49am

That would be an excellent gadget for a Tarantino splatter movie. Fold out metal extension could be a knife, scissors etc… well I’m just kidding.

Little high, little low

Haaa!!!
Legal issues: carrying someone on rear rack is officially legal only in The Netherlands, but police don’t over-react in most counries. Some articles:

Simple steel rack can handle easily more then 150lbs.
Right now we put all our power to get the first pedals delivered in beginning of May, but in next weeks there will be section about all questions at http://www.vigurvant.com
We’ll try also to make the road, not splatter movie before Tarantino. It’s geting tight :)

Things have went worst in Estonia :)
