FrostBike 2013: Look’s Morphable S-Track XC – AM Pedal on the Scales
As the replacement for Look’s Quartz mountain bike pedal platform, the S-Track was introduced at Interbike last year to quite a few interested eyes. Look was on hand at FrostBike with the goods and didn’t have them bolted down so we took the chance to get them on our scales to see how they compare. One of the most interesting features of the S-Track is the removable All Mountain platform that is available in either composite or alloy – not that many people will switch back and forth, but if you wanted to, you could. That means that the cage is easily replaceable as well should you damage it in a crash. S-Tracks are offered in the Standard, Race, and Carbon models with the Standard pedal available now through QBP and the other two available soon.
Check out the weights after the break.

The race and the regular have the same weight? or am I missing something?
The Alloy cover plates on the Race add weight to the pedal, for the sake of increased durability.
The axle and bearings on the race are a bit nicer than the regular as well. It’s not always about weights.
Anyone know if Time cleats work with these?
Time,
I have two pairs of quartz pedals with about 6 hours on them each.
Please can I trade them in for a pair of these new S-Track ones.
I really wanted to like your Quartz pedals, but I was too busy trying to stay clipped in and not kill myself.
Thank you.
