Politically conscious artist builds beautiful chandeliers from salvaged bicycle components

Carolina Fontoura Alzaga has a message for you. It has something to do about how the beauty of reclaiming scrap metal contributes to the evolution of humanity…. The end product is awesome. Check past the break for a couple of images or over to Etsy for the full scoop.

Whoa. So much art speak in the video. It all could have been summed up with: “look how cool these old bike parts look in a new arrangement.”

The chandeliers are really beautiful, but scavenging the parts to build bicycles would have been a real means to her supposed end of saving the planet than making some lights for rich folk.

They really are pretty, though.

I’ve been looking for some chandeliers for my dungeon. These just might fit the bill.
