Interbike 2012: Kore Handlebars Get Fatter & Lighter, Plus New Stems, Wheels & More
Kore continues to push out the legacy products to make way for new goods, all aimed at the aggressive mountain bike crowd.
The OCD handlebars get a 35mm diameter center section that lets them drop 10% of the weight and gain 10% stiffness. An 800mm wide bar comes in at just 257g compared to the still-available 31.8 OCD bar at 285g. It’ll only come with a 25mm rise. It mates up with their Repute stem for now, but they’re working several more 35mm bar bore stems including a direct mount.
The new Mega alloy handlebars are 251g for a 740mm width.
The Cubik is a new trail bike stem that comes with three front cap colors and six lengths from 50mm to 125mm. Claimed weights are 115g (50mm) and 149g (95mm).
Not shown, the Torsion SX V2 flat pedal get a little lighter by dropping the machines logo from the ends. Pins get a bit longer, too. They’re working on a thinner pedal for release in mid 2013, too.
The Rivera line is a new dirt jump group with handlebars (65mm and 80mm rises), 42.5mm stems, locking and BMX style grips, plastic flat pedals and wheels. Available in seven colors across the line.
Their wheels get a complete line makeover with DJ, DH and AM/trail options. The latter is tubeless compatible and they all get the appropriate axle options depending on discipline. Rims are available separately for each wheelset, too. The complete wheels will come in limited colors, but the aftermarket DJ rims will get all the Rivera color options.
