THM Introduces Clavicula M3 Mountain Bike Crankset, Baby Steps into Tapered Forks

2013 THM Carbone Clavicula M3 mountain bike cranksets

THM Carbone has pushed their carbon fiber cranks onto the trail. The new Clavicula M3 mountain bike cranksets use the same basic design as their road versions but with four BCD/spider options tailored to the dirt. Pics and bits below, along with look at their first tapered fork. If you’ve noticed, any bike built up with their insanely light road fork has always used a straight steerer. Well, the times they are a changing, and THM is getting there one eighth of an inch at a time…

2013 THM Carbone Scapula CT tapered carbon fiber road bike fork

The THM Scapula CT’s steerer tube tapers from 1-1/8″ to 1-1/4″, no full 1.5″ taper yet. Their rep says the CT’s fore/aft stiffness is a little less than their regular fork for more comfort, but is stiffer laterally.

I really hate THM carbone’s products’ graphics. They really should hire a graphic designer.

Why does the double with 64/104 BCD say for 29ers? Fairly sure that’ll work irrespective of wheel size…
