New Trek Road Bike Coming Friday?
UPDATE: Yep, it’s the Domane and you can see it here.
An anonymous tipster just sent in this screenshot from Trek’s dealer website teasing something new. Given the rumored Madone redesign, we’re guessing that’s it and that it will indeed have thinner seatstays. Why? Well, them there cobbles might be a bit much for a pure race bike as stiff as the current Madone. Of course, Trek’s road bike lineup does have a blatant omission: a comfort performance bike to compete with Specialized’s Roubaix and bikes like the Cervelo R5, so this might be an entirely new model to tap that market. We spoke with one of Trek’s road product managers at NAHBS briefly about just that and he acknowledged the gap in the line but wasn’t giving anything up other than to say there were definitely some killer new road bikes coming this year.
We should know for sure soon enough.

Well when it does crack I hope you have a easier time getting it replace than I did with the last Trek I owned.
Boring. Trek blows.
Assuming it doesn’t crack, and the flex point is complete BS, I could get down with something like this. In the end, I love a race bike that’ll fit some fatties. I guess that’s why I spend so much time on my CX bike with anything from 23c to 35c tires.
“Well when it does crack”?
I have the 98 Trek carbon bike (the one Lance rode in TdF). I must have rode at least 20,000 miles on it since 2000, rain or shine. Went through 3 different wheelsets, but the frame is still perfect, no cracks, nothing.
Can’t wait! DH bike with 36″ road wheels!
