New SE Bike Components – Handlebars, Fluted Seatposts and Clamps to Match

SE BIkes Bar Floval Black

From the brand that brings you the 29er cruiser bikes comes some BMX-inspired cockpit pieces for your big boy (or girl) bike.  SE creates some boss rigs, with style and function in heated competition.  Weight-weenies, turn away now – no carbon here.  These are just good lookin’, affordable components.  I’d say they are great for building up a custom around-towner or replacing stock components on BMX and fixies.

Three new products are offered -  Floval cruiser bars (featured above), retro seat clamps, and fluted seatposts.  Specs and pics after the break…

SE Bikes Bar Floval Chrome

The Floval Cruiser Bars are offered in two colors, chrome and black.  Made from high quality steel, these don’t look to snap in half like the aluminum Nitto risers.  I’ll have the opportunity to try similar bars when I start my fixed freestyle career.  Until then, all bones and sinews remain intact.

Specs:

  • 11 Butted
  • Heat Treated 4130 Cro-Mo
  • Rise: 5”
  • Width: 28”
  • Back Sweep: 8°
  • Upsweep: 2°
  • MSRP: $70 Black
  • MSRP: $80 Chrome

SE Bikes Seatpost Fluted Black and GOldThese were the talk of the town before becoming the hype of the hipsters.  Grooves down the side were thought to reduce weight.  Later, manufacturers developed different methods, though the aesthetic appeal remains.  The fluted seatpost would be at home on a vintage-esque frame in a really cool part of town.

SE Fluted Seatpost:

  • Fluted Retro Design with Micro-Adjust Guts
  • Available with 25.4mm or 27.2mm Diameter
  • Length 350mm
  • Available in Gold and Black
  • MSRP: $20

SE Bikes Seat Clamp Retro

No fluted seatpost is at home without the clamp.  Good thing they offer ‘em in matching colors!  The pricing is approximately two Soy Chai Lattes.

SE Retro Seat Clamps:

  • 6061 T-6 Alloy
  • Available in 28.6mm or 31.8mm Clamp Diameters
  • Colors: Gold, Black,& Silver
  • MSRP: $10

BMX’ers don’t actually go near anything SE, but those sweet hipster skidding dudes do

Racers do BJ. Not a lot of them, but at the local track here, there are a pretty good handful of SE bikes/parts.
