Old style brakes off of an old Schwinn cruiser bike. the right hand looks like it’s been through a bit.

Obviously these are french brake levers MAFAC brand manufactured in the 80′s like those my mother had on her bike. Typically they were fitted with mafac ‘Racer’ brakes, on ladie’s bikes which had flat handlebars.

There is steel inside the white plastic so they won’t snap.

Brake levers made from Ivory! These are off a Schwinn Circus trick bike and had matching pedals.

Those look like the Mafac levers that came on my wife’s ’78 Peugeot mixte. Pierre beat me to it.

Easy one..Mavic Ville levers. Have 2 sets of them. The end “ball” can get broken off kinda easy so
best to be carefull if you are leaning your bike against a wall.

chad - 10/10/11 - 5:36pm

crap, I meant Mafac Ville, whoops!

Kristibee - 10/11/11 - 6:55am

Answer: Yes, they are Mafac white plastic break levers!
Thanks, Spencer, for the link to your photos of them on a bike.

Mafac Racer levers. Steel inside but the plastic still breaks (haha!). Hard to find a set that isn’t broken.

Matt - 10/12/11 - 8:13am

That’ll be “brake” as opposed to “break”
