Yes, it was all good fun until we got to the River. The pic makes it look like we just got our feet wet but we were soon in waist and sometimes chest deep water. It was our own fault because we missed the correct crossing point and I just picked a spot – “This looks good”. A little over an hour later we dragged our wet, exhausted bodies out of the river and faced a 25 mile team time trial in order to return to the finish before the time limit. We felt like we won the world championship when we rolled into the parking lot with 13 minutes to spare!
