New Rock Solid Rigid Forks From White Brothers, Plus Color Matched WB/MRP Decals
Sure, White Brothers is now officially shipping their 29 inch version of their Loop fork in the background, but the really exciting fork in their booth (for me anyways), was the new Snowpack fat bike fork! Built off of their Rock Solid rigid carbon fork platform, the new Snowpack is built to accomodate most of today’s fat bike wheels and tires. I say most because when asked about the new 4.7 BFL’s I was told that they weren’t available for testing when the fork was created. The Snowpack was created with the help of Chain Reaction Cycles out of Anchorage, Alaska, and should be a welcome addition to most fat bikes.
Want the specs on the Snow Pack? What hubs can you run? Get the answer to that and more White Brothers goodies after the break!
Since the Snowpack is designed with 135mm front disc brake spacing in mind, it is specifically geared towards wide spaced front hubs like the Paul Whub. While the Whub will work great, those looking to be able to utilize a rear hub for the front wheel can rest easy as MRP is working on an adapter that will allow you to run a 135mm spaced rear hub on the Snowpack.
The Snowpack will be available in both 450 and 468mm axle to crown versions, which will weigh in at 919 and 932g respectively. For now the Snowpack will only be offered in a straight 1 1/8 steerer, with disc brake only.
While the 29 inch version of the Rock Solid rigid carbon fork isn’t new in itself, there is a new 490mm axle-to-crown version on the horizon. Like the other Rock Solid forks it will be disc only, 74mm post mount and approved for up to 185mm rotors.
Last but not least, if you are buying a Loop fork you now have your choice of colored decals. Maybe not the biggest deal, but if you are a stickler for matching, and you carefully pick every part, it could make a difference. Final colors should match the new colorways available in the G2 SL meaning orange, blue, green, and maybe pink.
