Bikerumor Pic Of The Day: …And, More Spider

Apparently, spiders like these can be a common occurrence for some of our fellow mountain bike riders in Brazil. This one is from Marcelo Guazzelli, who says of yesterday’s Pic Of The Day, “Spider? That? Not. This is a SPIDER!”
“These spider are common in the spring and summer (only in south of Brazil: Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and Parana). She’s big, but not dangerous for humans. Your popular name is “tarantula” or “caranguejeira” (Acanthoscurria geniculata)”

This spider scares the s$%& out of me! I would have never gotten close enough to snap such a photo; I would be screaming like a girl pedaling as hard as hell in the opposite direction.
Ah, Señor Fuzzy Spider, a fairly common site in Arizona. We’ve had ‘em as back yard residents. They can be dangerous to bikers, here, ‘cuz they be slippery if you run over one in a turn. If you’re really creeped out by spiders, alone, at night, hearing one run across pavement might unnerve you a bit. Heh.
That should read “sight” not “site.”
