NAHBS 2011 – Caletti Cycles Tiny 29er, City Bike, Road and Cyclocross Bikes
John Caletti builts some pretty straightforward bikes, and their comparative simplicity is what makes them beautiful to look at. While last year’s bikes had some pretty sweet, trick paint jobs, this year’s were more solid…yet they still mostly represented custom color and design options. In fact, of the frames shown here, I think the baby blue on the 29er is the only stock color shown of 10 available.
In addition to this super small 29er, he had a road, cyclocross and belt driven city bike on display. Check ’em all out after the break…
Caletti Cycles’ frames start at $1,550 for any model with custom geometry and choice of ten stock colors. Tubing is picked based on the rider’s style, weight etc. A uni-crown steel fork is $375, segmented is a little more. He can do any options for rack and fender mounts, disc brakes on cross bikes, etc. He’ll even do a one-piece bar/stem in titanium, like on the 29er above, or steel, as shown on the city bike further down.
Steel cyclocross bike with S-bend seatstays.
Nice, simple option for running standard ‘cross brakes or mini V-brakes.
Steel road bike.
Simple, clean looking cable guides on the head tube.
Belt drive was very, very popular at the show, and this bike just about sums up my perfect city bike: belt drive, internally geared rear hub, disc brakes and 700c wheels.
