2011 swobo kahzwool wool cycling jersey

This is new, from Swobo. We really can’t say it any better than this. Life is sweet with Sean the Sheep.

UPDATE: For an even better description of this jersey from he-hates-us-when-we-quote-him-because-it’s-usually-uncensored Mr. Ferrentino at Santa Cruz (which owns Swobo, or something like that), hit “more”.

Upon us asking MF if the Kahzwool jersey was new and worth posting about, here’s his reply:

on the sole merit of the merino wool we use, it would be worth writing about. seriously, this new mutant superwool is amazing shit in terms of staying warm, wicking, breathing, and not being stinky. wool tends to get overlooked when talking about tech fabric, and that is a shame, since it can kick the living tar out of most of the synthetic tech stuff. so that’s point one.

point two would be: locally sewn, ethically grown. aside from being a rad tech fabric, wool is a renewable resource, and the new zealand merino wool we’re using comes from sheep that are massaged every day and sung to sleep at night by a chorus of virgins. okay, maybe not, but they are pretty well treated sheep. the fabric comes from new zealand, and the garments are sewn right here in california.

point three: this is a new piece for us in terms of cut and end-user. our trad merino jerseys are pretty standard cycling tops – snug fit, stretch cuffs, rear pockets, tight waists. this is more casual, hence “kazhwool.” same wool, looser cut, no rear pockets, aimed more at the mountain bike rider who wears a backpack, intended to look slightly less obviously like a cycling jersey while still offering all the performance that the material has such a solid reputation for providing.

unfortunately, it’s only available in a dude version at this time (sorry ladies, Bikerumor asked, though, because we love you, too).

Mike, if Santa Cruz ever kicks you to the curb, we’ve got a nice, minimally paying writing job for you here.
