2011 Redline 29er Mountain Bikes, Geared and Single Speeds

Redline’s got several new 29er models coming September 1, both geared and suspended and steel-framed single speed with rigid forks.

Shown above is the D660, their race-oriented model that comes with new SRAM 2×10 drivetrain (a mix of X9 shifters, rear der and X7 front der) and Tektro’s new Draco hydraulic disc brakes. The fork is a 100mm Rockshox Reba SL and the frame is double butted aluminum alloy with forged dropouts, and extruded chainstay yoke and brake bridge, and it comes with a lifetime frame warranty. Ritchey Pro bar, stem and post, and Alex DP20 wheels with WTB Prowler SL 29er tires round out the package. MSRP is $1,799.

Next down the line is the D600, which has a 6061 double butted front triangle, SRAM X5 2×9 drivetrain, Avid BB5 disc brakes and Rockshox Dart 3 fork. Alex Dh19 wheels with WTB rubber wrap it up. MSRP is $899.

The 2011 Redline Monocog Flight 29er is, as the name implies, a singlespeed, and the “Flight” model is their top of the line. The frame and fork are Sanko chromoly, with a butted fork and double butted front triangle. It comes outfitted with an FSA crank with 32-18 gearing, Alex DP20 rims with Redline sealed hubs and Avid BB5 disc brakes. MSRP is $989.

The Monocog 29 gets a full chromoly frame with 135 spacing and disc tabs, but is spec’d with Tektro vee-brakes. Fork is chromoly, too, and also gets disc tabs for future upgrades. Spec is SRAM 5D cranks with 33-16 gearing, Alex Dh19 ano black rims with Redline sealed hubs and Kenda tires. MSRP is $549.

Man, it doesn’t look like any of those frames have tapered headtubes…. for us bigger guys that ride 29′ers in the rocks you’d think that they would have spec’d those frames with that requirement… not good…
