Based on the WWII posters about conserving oil (so it can be used for the war effort)–his aim, however is not to conserve oil, but to eliminate its use through personal action. I’d like to think a dependence on oil for tires wouldn’t create the disastrous situations we continue to face…..ideally we could still keep bikes around.
