Clothing manufacturer Castelli has released their 2010 summer apparel line, and the company says they are closer than ever to allowing you to feel naked on the bike.

Castelli’s new Body Paint bibshort is said to imitate body paint in the way it looks and fits on a rider, eliminating significant drag while also making the most comfortable bibs yet. The single panel shorts use only one stitch, which is usually a point of discomfort for many riders. Even through the leg bands and shoulder straps, Castelli seamlessly mills elastic bands in, eliminating the need for traditional stitching.

The bibs will also incorporate Castelli’s new Progetto X2 seat pad, which features two separate layers, one designed to make contact with your skin as comfortable as possible, and a separate piece of padding to give you comfort in the saddle.

Also new to the 2010 lineup is the Aero Race jersey, which Castelli calls the “fastest jersey in the peloton.” Worn by the Cervelo Test Team during races, the company says that wind tunnel testing shows riders can save 10 watts per hour at 25 mph, which would theoretically translate to about 40 seconds every hour, if riders were able to maximize their effort and capitalize on this aero advantage.

The Body Paint bibshorts retail for $250 around the web, and the Aero Race jersey is selling for $160. See more pics of the line after the jump…
