Armstrong pointed to this Twitter profile when announcing that he and girlfriend Anna Hansen are expecting a child.

It seems that Lance Armstrong will be adding to his family with girlfriend Anna Hansen. Armstrong made the announcement in his signature fashion in posts to his Twitter and Facebook pages yesterday, after the “Twitterati” first notice that Armstrong was following a user named “CincoArmstrong” on Twitter. Lance later confirmed with a post saying…

“Getting ?’s today about someone I’m following, a certain Cinco armstrong. What to say? Yet another blessing in our lives. I cannot wait!”

The Twitter page Lance has up for his unborn child hints at an October due date and lists the official name as Jack Olivia Armstrong. Armstrong welcomed his most recent child, Max, with Hansen in June of last year.

Kentucky Getting Second Permanent Cyclocross Course

In anticipation of the Worlds in a few years, Kentucky is building out its infrastructure for year ’round cyclocross racing so the locals will show up strong.  From CXMagazine.com:

The city of Covington, Kentucky, just outside of Cincinnati, became the state’s second city to commit to year ‘round cyclocross bicycle racing when the city commissioners, in a meeting shown on live television, approved plans for a permanent cyclocross park in Devou Park. Covington now joins Louisville Kentucky as a permanent home to the fast-growing off-road bicycle sport that has been compared to steeplechase horse racing. Devou Park is no stranger to cyclocross racing, as it annually hosts the opening day of the Cincinnati UCI3 International Cyclocross Festival.

Covington’s new cyclocross race and training park will be built on an otherwise unused portion of the park located near the intersection of Montague and Sleepy Hollow Roads, and much of the facility will utilize existing road beds that are no longer being used.

Tasty Gearhead Go Bars from Kinetic Koffee, plus Artwork from Bulk Coffee Bags

kinetic-koffee-gearhead-go-bar01

SEA OTTER CLASSIC 2010 – Go Bars are about $3 each, and they’ll be available in about a week via his website.  For dealers, they’re waiting on point of sale materials, but it’ll happen probably sometime around Interbike.  Shelf life is about six months, but judging by the brisk sales at Sea Otter (they sold out in two days, leaving only nibble sized samples for us starving journos to eat).

kinetic-koffee-cofee-bag-art02In what Kinetic Koffee founder Mark Ritz jokingly refers to as his free time, he’s been putting together wall art by stretching the bulk coffee bean bags over hardwood frames.

“They’re so beautiful, I just couldn’t stand to keep throwing them away,” Ritz said.

They’ll be offered for $20 to $40 depending on size, and they’re available now.  If you’re interested, contact Mark via their website and he’ll send some pics of the current bags in stock and get you what you want.  For now.

More pics and ingredients list on the bars after the break…

New Anodized Colors from Ellsworth

ellsworth-new-ano-colors02

SEA OTTER CLASSIC 2010 – Ellsworth was showing some new anodized color options for the pivots, rocker arm and dropouts on their bikes, which according to Ellsworth should match up fairly well with items from Fox, SRAM, Chris King and now Crank Brothers (no anodizing run is going to exactly match another, but they targeted the high end components when developing their colors).

On the bike above, note the blue rocker arm and dropout, which match the water bottle cage bolts, seat clamp and the knobs and switches on the Fox shock and fork.  And there’s something you’re not seeing on this one that’s in plain view after the break…

Seinfeld’s Jason Alexander Hits 14 Year Old Riding Bicycle to School

Seinfeld actor Jason Alexander (aka George Costanza) reportedly struck a 14-year-old boy on his bicycle while driving in LA.

Los Angeles police didn’t cite Alexander though, likely because the boy is in stable condition and because Alexander stayed with the child until police and medics arrived at the scene.

Los Angeles police spokeswoman Norma Eisenman says Alexander hit the bicyclist at about 7:15am Tuesday and that the boy was in stable condition when he was taken to a hospital for examination. She had no additional details about the accident but said Alexander wasn’t cited.

Alexander’s publicist said the actor is grateful the boy wasn’t seriously hurt.  Perhaps he thought the kid had ridden in from Arizona.
