INTERBIKE 2009Light and Motion actually announced these lights back in June, but we were able to get a look at some of the prototyping used to develop their Seca lights:

Shown at top is the new Seca 900, a 900 lumen mountain bike light released mid-year in both normal and “Ultra” versions with retail prices at $649.99 and $699.99 respectively (The Ultra gets a larger battery, otherwise they’re the same).

Check our prior post for tech specs, and hit more for real live photos of the Seca 900 and new Stella 150L, 150N and 300 commuter lights…

The back half of the Seca lights are all heat sink, which must work because in our experience (with the Seca 400, anyway), they don’t get very hot.

Light goes off… The Stella 300 Dual is a spot/flood combo that pumps out 300 lumens for 3 hours on high.  The system weighs 300g and takes five hours to recharge.  It uses the same 3-cell Li-Ion battery pack as the Seca 400.

The Stella 150N is Light and Motion’s powerful budget commuter.  It puts out 150 lumens with a 2.5 hour run time.  At $169.99, it’s cheaper than the 150L, but uses a NiMH battery with shorter run time.  The payoff is you still get the same light output with a small battery pack that can easily mount to the stem…

…or helmet.  For stop-and-go commuters that tend to run a lot of errands, this makes it easy to have a light but not have to worry about leaving it on the bike where it could get stolen.

The Stella 150L uses a 2-cell Li-Ion battery pack for four hours of run time and a quicker five hour recharge.  MSRP is $229.99.
