INTERBIKE 2009 – We teased out a few phone cam pics of this one from the show floor, and now finally, here are the specs and deets on this and the other three Pista fixed gear bikes from Bianchi.
Shown above is the new Pista Classica, a lugged steel frame and fork that’s available only as a frameset. MSRP is not set yet.

The Pista Via Condotti is a Cromoly Steel welded frame with butted tubes and a 1″ CrMo steel fork. Ã‚Â It’s sold as a complete bike with Maddux track wheels, Tektro front brake and lever (which is easily removable), Truvativ Touro track cranks, KMC chain and a Shimano sprocket. Ã‚Â It even comes with pedals. Ã‚Â Despite the baby blue tone of the photo, the frame actually comes in Bianchi’s trademark Celeste green. Ã‚Â This bike is a step above the original chrome Pista from recent years (still available, just not shown in this post). Ã‚Â MSRP is $799 complete (versus $729 for the original chrome Pista and $699 for the blue Pista).
The Bianchi Pista Via Brera comes with swept flat bars for a more sophisticated look and is sold with both front and rear brakes. Ã‚Â But, note the chrome brake cable holders along the top tube? Ã‚Â You can remove those along with the brake to have a very clean frame with no cable bosses uglying up the scene.
The other cool feature on the Via Brera is that it comes with SRAM’s Torpedo rear hub, which converts from fixed to freewheel via an internal screw without removing the wheel (check out coverage of the Torpedo here).
Cork grips, leather toe straps and suede seat round out the classy package. Ã‚Â MSRP is $799.
The Bianchi Super Pista is intended as a Track race bike, but Bianchi’s marketing manager said more of them end up on the street than the planks. Ã‚Â Unlike the urban versions above, the Super Pista is built with alloy tubes and an alloy/carbon fork. Ã‚Â No brakes, just speed.
The Super Pista frame and fork will retail for $749.
