INTERBIKE 2009 – Formula Brakes has redesigned virtually their entire line and added two new models, the RX and The One FR.  Besides the levers and calipers, they redesigned their rotors, too, and all are now 87g for 160mm steel in a 6-bolt design.  Another across-the-line change is the removal of all pad-contact adjustment dials, and all master cylinders now have eight ports to improve fluid transfer and heat dissipation, which helps prevent fade.  Formula has discontinued the Oro line in favor of the new models.
Shown above, the RX is their new entry level sub-$200 (per wheel) hydraulic brakeset for cross country / trail riding.  They weigh in at 351g (front, post mount) with a 160mm rotor.  It has a cast radial master cylinder with cast one-piece caliper.  The bar mount is a two-bolt flip/flop design, so you can run the levers moto-style if you want, and you don’t have to remove the grip and shifters to swap them around.
