PRESS RELEASE: On Oct. 1, 2009, Ritchey Design will launch the Ritchey Product Upgrade Program with Ztail.com. With this new program, customers who purchase select Ritchey products from Ritcheylogic.com can upgrade / trade-in their item for “Ritchey Bucks” that can be used to purchase an upgraded version of the item or any other component on Ritcheylogic.com.

“The loyalty program with Ztail.com is a way for us to reward our customers who make Ritchey an integral part of their rides,” said Steve Parke, Ritchey Design general manager. “When times are tough, as they are now, it’s hard to justify upgrading your bike. We hope this program will make it easier for our customers to try our great products and upgrade if they wish.”

Customers have the opportunity to participate in the Ritchey Product Upgrade Program with every purchase of Ritchey Design saddles, pedals, wheels or carbon forks made after Oct. 1, 2009 on Ritcheylogic.com and fulfilled through Ritchey Design retailers. Customers register their purchase with Ztail.com using their Ritchey product receipt numbers, allowing them to exchange their Ritchey products for Ritchey Bucks when they’re ready to upgrade their gear. When possible, Ritchey Design retailers will fulfill upgrade program orders placed on Ritcheylogic.com.

The offer to upgrade Ritchey Design products is valid beginning on the purchase date, extending up to 18 months after the initial purchase date. The Ritchey Product Upgrade Program guarantees customers 25 to 80 percent of a product’s retail value depending on the product’s age. Please refer to Ztail.com for a breakdown of the product trade-in values offered throughout the 18-month period.

To be considered for the upgrade program, Ritchey Design products must be in good working condition and have no material damage beyond normal wear and tear. The products must also have all of their original parts, accessories and manuals. If the product isn’t in an acceptable trade-in condition, Ztail.com will propose a reduced payout for the item or ship it back to the customer. The Ritchey Design Upgrade Program limits each household to 2,000 Ritchey Bucks per calendar year.
