Giro has released details on their Fall 2009 sunglasses.
Shown above is the new Havik 2 Full, a redesigned version of their Havik frame and lens based on input from riders like Contador, Vande Velde, Farrar, Adam Craig adn Leipheimer.  The new frame has more flex and reduced pressure at the temples (which is a good thing…we’ve been testing a pair since Sea Otter and that’s about the only complaint we have on them was they were a bit tight at the end of the arms).  They also increased brow clearance to reduce fog build-up and keep sweat from dripping down the inside of the lens, and the nose pieces are now painted to match the frame color.  They feature Italian-made injection molded frames with 7-base ZEISS Certified lens that block 100% of UV rays.  It comes in four frame colors with multiple lens tints and a full and compact lens cut.  MSRP $140 – $200.
They’ve also released two new Full lens options with their Yellow Selector and Orange Selector.  The Yellow is designed for flat or low-light conditions to improve contrast and perception.  The Orange is for varying and low-light conditions, particularly for trail riding.

Giro’s also introducing two new fashion models for the Fall.  Above is the Tone for men, modeled by Giro Team Rider Paul Basagoitia.  They’re also made in Italy with 8-base ZEISS Certified lenses for total UV protection.  They’ll come in five frame/lens options including Polarized (yay!) with an MSRP range from $90 to $140.
The women’s model, dubbed the Coy, is a similarly oversized design with the same features as the men’s Tone but in a medium-sized fit for women.  Available in four frame/lens options (no mention of Polarized) with MSRP range of $90 to $110.
