Burley Recalls 2009 d’Lite ST and Solo ST Trailers

Burley has recalled about 2,700 of its bicycle trailers.  The recall applies to all 2009 d’Lite ST and Solo ST trailers because of a defect in the axle system that may cause one of hte wheels to fall off, resulting in serious injury to the cycling and passengers in the trailer.  Owners are asked to stop using them immediately and contact Burley.  The full info on the recall is here.

Winners will be determined by a panel of 50 judges, and if you’d like to be considered as a judge, there’s contact info on BikeBiz’s website.  In the meantime, if any of you other nominees are going to this party, I say we all have a friendly beer chugging contest…the guys at CamelBak have offered to buy!*

Sweet Spot Bikes Employee’s Ride

spot-bikes-custom3

This is Gavin’s bike from Spot.  Rob took the pic while at the RMBS (which, apparently, didn’t have any lights on inside the show) this past weekend.  It’s a custom job that’s only received a clear coat to show off the clean welds on their frames.  Enjoy more after the break…

2010 Fuji 29er Mountain Bikes

2010-fuji-tahoe-29-slStraight from the Fuji Mountain Bike team’s blog are fresh pics of the new 2010 Fuji Tahoe 29ers.  Here’s what they had to say about them:

We will start with the 29″ line. The frame is redesigned with a “Power Curve” squared tapered down tube, hydroformed Tri Top Tube andoversized seat tube all designed to improve stiffness with out sacrificing weight. Cable mounting is all moved to the top of the Top Tube to improve shifting and cable cleanliness. The Tahoe 29 series continues to be a value line up really lacking an all out pro level race build, but the top of the line Tahoe 29SL (above) is spec’d with full SRAM x-9 and our own new OEM Handlebars, Stem and Seatposts but still manages to tip the scale under 29.5lbs in a 19″ frame. The new frames are lighter, but I can tell you that Team Members riding the 09 Tahoe 29 SL have all gotten their bikes under the 25lb mark and anticipate getting close to the 23lb mark with the new frames and SRAM XX group.

You can check out their 2010 SLM, a 19.03lb full carbon hardtail and their sub-24lb DSR full suspension mountain bikes on this post (they’re sweet!), or hit ‘more’ to see the other two models…

2010-spot-bicycle-belt-drive2

All we can add to that is “check out the other photo after the break…”

2010 Maverick DUC 7″ Carbon Inverted Suspension Fork

2010-maverick-mtb-susp-fork3

According to Rob, this bad boy has 7″ of travel and is a 1/2 lb lighter than a Fox TALAS 36!

The Maverick DUC32, their aluminum version with a monocoque “H” upper weighs just 3.9lbs for 6″ of travel, so this carbon version should be pretty darn light.  It uses their proprietary 24/7 (24mm thru axle) hub and Quickflip mount.  29er fans, rejoice, they make a 29er version of the DUC32 and their shorter travel SC32…so here’s hoping this carbon version gets the big wheel treatment, too.
