Oh man! Beat out by Tim F by one minute! Congrats, Tim!

I made the decision to double check my answer to The Helmet Lock’s tagline, because it seemed like it could also have been “Keeps your lid secure,” since I saw that one a couple places.

Man, I was totally gunning for that SimpleStrap, too. :) Good job, all! And thanks, Bob!

Bob O - 08/27/09 - 12:35pm

He did have to edit his, so maybe you are first cheeken.

Hmmm…seems this Question about the Simple Strap and who got on the podium may not be as simple? Quite a few different answers being posted. I’ll be curious to see what happens with this one.

WestSiderRider - 08/27/09 - 1:02pm

With all the edits, maybe there’s still a chance. Here are my answers!

1) JHK (mounted on stem) Jeremiah Bishop (mounted on seatpost) & Colin Cares (mounted on stem)

2) Organic merino wool, organic cotton, and recycled polyester.

3) Thumbs up rating was 4.5 thumbs up.

4) “Lock Your Lid”

Magnesium (sulfate)
Vitamin C
Vitamin B2

6) Banana

WestSiderRider - 08/27/09 - 1:55pm

Update to my post above per BikeRumor.com’s content. Jeremy Horgan-Kobelski (“JHK”) had a Simple Strap mounted to his seatpost at the Firecracker 50.

cheeken - 08/27/09 - 3:15pm

Totally not trying to be a jerk; just aiming for some clarification.

During contest 1, the rule was stated that: “One entry per person…get your answers right the first time. First commenter with all answers correct wins. You must use a valid email address to comment…that’s how we’ll contact you if you win.”

Does that rule continue to apply, or was that for the first contest only? And by “one entry per person,” does that mean the first one chronologically? or the first correct answer? And does “first commenter with all answers correct” mean that the answers have to be correct in one comment? So, it’s an all or nothing kind of thing?

I mean, it’s all good however, I just needed some clarification. Thanks!

Tim F - 08/27/09 - 3:40pm

I think cheeken has a point. I totally would not have put in an edited second comment had I seen that rule from the first contest (but would stand by my report of JHK’s seatpost placement as per the picture I linked). Even though my post beat his by a minute, it looks like he was the first with all 5 answers correct (or at least the way I meant to submit mine) and deserves the Simple Strap he was gunning for.

cheeken - 08/27/09 - 3:58pm

Thanks, Tim. But I’m not even sure that solves the issue, though, since some others must have found some other information about the Firecracker 50, and have different responses still.

Dan H. also had Heather Irmiger as a response, and Jace Allbright also added Jay Henry, and Peter Stetina.

But, they have different responses than you or I to the Teko sock question, so if they’re incorrect on those, but more correct than you or I on the Firecracker question, then it would seem, actually, that no one has submitted the correct set of responses yet.

My brain hurts. :)

cheeken - 08/27/09 - 4:09pm

Any chance an editor could check on this thread and just confirm or deny that anyone has gotten the answers correct yet? Maybe we’re just splitting all kinds of hairs in here…

Editor - 08/27/09 - 4:45pm

Editor here,
My brain hurts, too. Sorry we let this go so long. Here’s the status:

- Cheeken had the first post with all the correct answers (based on what we had expected*, use this as a reference).

- Dan H, technically your sock answer can be correct since we didn’t specify “primary” materials, but you’ll need to point us to a URL with an image of the Heather Irmiger’s bike at the Firecracker50 with the strap on her seatpost. ByeKyle’s website has pics of the men at the race with JHK’s on the stem. Show me the URL within 24 hours and you’ll stay in 2nd. (Technically, everyone’s wrong since nobody had both the men and Heather, but we didn’t know about Heather, so we’ll let it slide)

(all positions below pending Dan’s ability to prove his point)

- Tim F, we’ll accept yours in 3rd with the edit since all of the rules weren’t on this post. We’ll put the full rules list on each subsequent day’s contest.

- Bob O, you’re in 4th.

- Jace, you’re in 5th (I didn’t look closely enough at ByeKyle’s pics…it says Stem, but shows it on his Post, so either way counts for Colin)

- West Side Rider…hang in there, we’ll see what happens with Dan’s response.

I’ll try to make tomorrow’s questions a little clearer and list all rules within the post. Good stuff coming up, and some big ticket items for the final three days!

You can see it on the back of her bike.

Editor - 08/27/09 - 11:02pm

OK…Dan, you’ve got 2nd. Everybody who won, please use the link below and submit your full name, mailing address and phone number. We’ll pass it along to the contest sponsors and they’ll ship your prizes directly. We’ll share your email with them, too, so they can contact you with any questions or size preferences.

Congrats everyone!

West Side Rider, we’ve got lots more stuff to give away…thanks for playing and try again tomorrow!

WestSiderRider - 08/28/09 - 1:51pm

Thanks for the clarification questions and answers everyone. Bikerumor.com is awesome, keep up the good work.
