Assaulted Critical Mass Cyclist Sues NYPD for $1.5 Million

It really is NYPD Blue today as cyclist Christopher Long sues the department for $1.5 million based on the assaulting officer’s subsequent filing of false reports.

Rookie officer Patrick Pogan, who was fired for falsifying the police report following the videotaped event, tackled Long during a Critical Mass ride last July.  The attack was unprovoked, which made it bad enough, but then Pogan tried to cover it up.

Luckily for the world, YouTube has hosted the video of the attack for all to see, and has essentially provided the evidence that is letting justice (potentially) be served.  Long’s attorney said “”There is psychological trauma, which explains why he is not living in New York City right now. It is a terrible experience for him to go through.”
