What you’re looking at here is A) the first production Pi Mobility frame to roll off their line and B) not technically a spy shot…the owner of the company sent these images to us.  But, they’re pretty cool.  Check out the suspension mech on the fork, totally recessed into the legs.

If you have no idea what a Pi Mobility bicycle is, read our other post for details, but basically, it’s an electric motor bike with Shimano Alfine 8-speed hub and a 20mph unassisted top speed.

Click the images to enlarge, and read the other post for images of a fully built Pi.

It would have been nice if the owner placed it on a spring balance and shows us the weight. If it can handle 25% grades, great. 🙂

smooth design,,,,,, function follows form in this case maybe but it still looks very nice

Finally!! This frame shows me the PI is serious about selling a quality product. This is a nicely executed piece, to be sure. PI’s business motto may very well be, “Do it right or don’t do it at all!” Classy. A double hit, too. It performs well and it looks good in your living room as well.

I have worked with the design team and have tested this very project in prototype early on. I am happy to see they are using, in manufacturing, the level of quality that this unit deserves. Well done.
