Speed Studio Design sent us a tweet with links to their concept bicycles.  Pictured above is their WWII inspired beach cruiser that uses a lower “top tube” and flared (flair?) upper tube that allows it to do away with a traditional seat tube.  Looks like it’s more for storming the beaches…in style.

The fixed gear Track Bike concept, as a pure design exercise, can be forgiven for having an integrated seat/top tube/stem that doesn’t allow for turning the wheel.  Purists scoff at steering anyway… just skid the rear wheel to turn or go home, newbie.

Their Single Speed Commuter bike has an integrated cargo rack and, in my opinion, is the best looking and most “buildable” of these concepts.  All of their bike concepts are designed to be built with CroMo tubing and fillet brazing.

They’ve also mocked up a few component designs, and from their website, SSD is looking to partner with bicycle and component manufacturers to collaborate on the design of future projects.
