Look just sent us some promotional info on their new 566, which is an all-new road bike for 2009.  We covered it visually in our Interbike coverage of Look’s booth, but here are some of the tech details.  The bike is designed with a thin flat top tube and seat stays for a responsive but comfortable ride.  Oddly enough, one of my friend’s shops in Florida just picked up Look and has this bike on display.  The overall impression is that the bike will be laterally stiff (it’s hard to bend the wide tubes sideways), but vertically compliant to soak up the bumpy, hurty stuff.

X Design Chainstays
The X Design stays were created to have lateral stiffness as well as responsiveness and vertical compliance for the comfort. The flattened tube was designed to create a virtual point of flex in the chain and seat stays. The top has the same flattened design in order to have flex and stiffness concept.

New Compact Geometry
A taller head tube than the LOOK standard geometry and a slightly shorter sloping top tube. The result – an ideal position for the cyclists allowing them to ride in comfort and thus riding longer and faster.

Ultra Light Carbon Frame
LOOK’s twenty plus years of carbon technology allows them to produce a feather weight frame that is light without compromising the overall rigidity and ride performance.

Red/Black Color Option
The frame is available in a Red/Black option as well as the White/Black.

566 Comfort Carbon Fork
The 100% carbon single-piece fork weighs 350 g uncut and meets the new Standard EN 14781 safety test requirement.

The shape of the fork is designed to increase comfort and the stability on the bike. The fork also utilizes the LOOK pantented integrated conical carbon crown (45° bearing angle).
