It’s true (finally!!), Chris King is making bottom brackets.  Check the video for details (it’s a little dark, this was after demo day was over and the sun was on it’s way down):

Read “more” for additional pics and specs.  We’ll have more posted on King later, they had a number of new items on show, including a new Brown color option and some Single-Speed stuff, but we just couldn’t wait to show you the new BB.

It’s been rumored for years and years, but here it is.  Designed to work with Shimano-style cranksets (mountain and road), it’s an external bearing system with a pretty neat cleaning / re-greasing system for keeping your bearings runnin’ smooth.  Steel bearings inside of a seal that actual forms a “groove” inside over time, keeping things sealed and running smooth.  Click on the pics to enlarge them.

Here are the specs, straight from their promotional signage:

Shown with a Shimano crankset:

And the grease gun attachment.  The blue nozzles actually aim at an angle to force themselves into the inner seal slightly, thereby pushing new grease in from the inside out, making your dirty old grease come out where you can easily wipe it off.

The BB’s will be available in all ten standard King colors, including their new Brown color.  MSRP is TBD.
