bikerumor pic of the day vultures bike ride in the florida everglades

Photo submitted by Ross Lukoff, “Here’s a pic I took of Scary Gary Mendenhall while doing a gravel ride for my birthday in the Florida Everglades, outside of Miami. There were about 200 turkey vultures blocking the trail cause they were picking on a dead python. The winter rides are so rough in sunny South Florida.”

Bikerumor Pic Of The Day: Gotthard Pass, Switzerland

Leo Lupelli sent in this winter wonderland shot from his “recent ride up the Gotthard Pass in Switzerland starting from Andermatt. The pass is closed in winter so it’s a mix of tarmac road and singletrack interrupted here and there by frozen water streams that add that level of complexity to the climbs and keep you on your toes on the way down!”

Canadian reader Mathieu Boudier-Revéret sent in a couple of photos from a New Year’s ride in Québec. Hop past the break for another snap of their sunny pit stop mid ride…

Bikerumor Pic Of The Day: East Fork of the Wind River, Wyoming

bikerumor pic of the day biking the east fork of the wind river in wyoming

Photos submitted last February by Tim Young, “Photos from a fine winter gravel ride up the East Fork of the Wind River, near Dubois Wyoming, coming home from lobbying a bike bill in our state legislature. The Thunderhead Ranch is famous in bike advocacy as the place two dozen visionary bike leaders first met, 20 years ago this summer, and hatched today’s robust modern bicycle advocacy movement. And more bike-related history, that early gathering also featured a fun party at the Schwinn family’s Blue Holes Ranch just down the valley.”
