Introduced in 2015, the Alchemy Arktos trail bike used 27.5″ wheels and a new suspension design from David Earle. It’s been very well received, but lacked a 29er option…until now. The new Alchemy Arktos 29 revised not just wheel size, but also travel, geometry and more to create a modern long travel mountain bike.

Rear travel is 140mm, using their Sine Suspension to manage wheel path and leverage ratios. They gave it a long top tube running to a 66º head angle with 160mm fork. The fork uses the shorter 44mm offset to keep trail tight, giving it the right combo of a slack angle and responsive steering.

They went the “Super Boost” 157×12 rear end to offer better wheel strength and overall system stiffness. It sticks with standard mountain bike crank spindles, though, just paired with Boost chainrings. There’s no front derailleur mount, it’s 1x only, fitting up to a 38-tooth chainring. It uses a standard 73mm threaded BB.

Max tire clearance is 29×2.4.

Unless you’re one of their sponsored athletes, then you can get custom paint like this…

…or this. Or you can pay for custom paint through their in-house program. The Stars and Stripes bike is an Arktos 29 frame modded for dual slalom for Cody Kelley, and the orange one above is Anneke Beerten’s enduro race bike. lower offset = higher trail = more stability/oversteer.

Seriously, if you feel the need for superboost at least leave room for 2.6″
