At first glance it’s just another composite cage. How interesting can it be? But Tacx’s new Ciro uses their injection molded tech to mix materials and produce a light bottle cage that holds your bottle tight. It’s already World Tour proven, weighs less than some full carbon cages, and costs less than twenty bucks.

The made in the Netherlands, Tacx Ciro encases a glass fiber core within molded carbon to create a lightweight water bottle cage that still delivers reliable bottle clamping force. The minimalist design was developed together with pro riders including Rigoberto Uran & Niki Terpstra to pare down their previous Deva cage, which was already be found on a large swath of the pro peloton.

The resulting composite water bottle cage weighs just 29g and sells for a surprisingly cheap $19.99/17.99€. It comes in nine different finish combos, including an optional splash of color and gloss or matte finishes. Get one through your local bike shop or direct from Tacx.

Looks nice!
But at the same weight, the $6 Cateye BC-100 hasn’t failed me yet.

Serfas CC-300 is lighter, just as cheap, and (to my eye) looks better and cleaner. To each their own!

To each their own i guess, but I think the Tacx cage looks better. I can also report that I have never lost a bottle with either my Bontrager or Tacx bottle cages. As a cobbles enthusiast that is no mean feat.

looks like edges are not rolled over. Had a cage without rolled edges vut my achilles almost badly during a fall.
