With plenty of new 2018 products hitting the market it’s a good time to dive into another gear roundup, and in this article we’re highlighting new stuff for road riders. Bikerumor has your heads and feet covered with two new sunglasses from Adidas and Native Eyewear, an NYC-inspired cycling cap from Cinelli and a pair of Team Movistar special edition shoes from fi’zi:k.

Adidas Sport Eyewear Zonyk Aero Midcut

The Zonyk Aero Midcut is Adidas’ newest addition to their Sport Essentials eyewear line. This model features a new lens shape which offers a slimmer top-to-bottom fit than the Zonyk Aero.

Equipped with their Quick-Change system, the Midcuts can accommodate many different lenses including polarized, mirrored, eye-fatigue reducing LST, auto-tinting VARiO, and Adidas’ newest LST + VARiO lenses. Since these frames feature clip-in inserts, they are also prescription-ready.

Fitting into the Zonyk Aero Midcuts should be easy for anyone. Not only do the frames come in small and large sizes, but the Double-Snap nose bridges are adjustable, and the Traction Grip non-slip temples offer three fit positions.

The Zonyk Aero Midcut comes in Basic and Pro models. The Pro version adds a removable sweat bar, which also helps direct air to the inside of the filters to reduce fogging and aid ventilation. Pro models start at $209 USD, and come in eight color and filter combinations. Basic models start at $159, with twelve color/filter combos to choose from.

Native Eyewear Catamount

Next up is a pair of sunglasses whose look was inspired by something you don’t want to see while riding- a mountain lion! New for 2018, Native Eyewear’s Catamounts offer a sleek semi-rimless design with interchangeable lenses to suit the conditions at hand.

Catamount models come with either Native’s Reflex mirrored lenses (which reduce glare and light transmission and increase contrast) or their N3 polarized lenses, which block up to 4x more infrared light than regular polarized lenses and provide UV protection up to 400nm.

The Catamount’s frames offer a medium-large fit. They also feature adjustable Cushionol ™ nose pads and co-injected temple tips. There are five frame/lens combos to choose from, and they sell for $119 or $139 with Reflex lenses.

Yoon Hyup x Cinelli New York City Cap

Yoon Hyup is a New York based artist who likes to cruise around the city on his Cinelli bicycle. It seems Cinelli likes Hyup’s work as well, as they’ve decided to feature his unique style of line-and-dot art on their new New York City cap. Hyup explains how his design was inspired by the Big Apple;

“Whenever I bike through various streets of big blocks or small blocks, I pictured the images of New York full of skyscrapers and kept those images in my mind as abstract maps…I chose the colors whose motive comes from the feeling of the evening in New York and the color of my own Cinelli bike’s frame.”

The Yoon Hyup x Cinelli New York City cap is made in Italy, comes in ‘one size fits all’ and retails for $22.

For their 2018 and 2019 world tour races, Movistar’s men and their new Women’s team will both be wearing the Infinito R1 Movistar Team shoe. Developed in collaboration with team riders, this shoe is a special edition of fi’zi:k’s top of the line road model.

The model name references one of the shoe’s main features- the Infinito Closure System. This system uses two micro-adjustable Boa IP1-B dials with steel-coated nylon laces that are configured to snugly wrap your upper forefoot.

The shoes also feature fi’zi:k’s Dynamic Arch Support, Increased Volume Control (which shapes the shoe’s entire upper section to the profile of your foot), and Infinito mesh footbeds with textile guides designed to eliminate pressure points.

The shoe’s upper is made from 1.2mm thick laser perforated Microtex fabric, offering an ideal balance of flex, support and breathability. Down below, full unidirectional carbon outsoles offer stiffness, light weight and ventilation for hotter rides.

A pair of size 42.5 shoes hits the scales at 232g, and their retail price is $450 USD. Sizes 36, 37-47 and 48 are available in the Movistar Team’s signature colorway.
