For the most part, we know VéloColour for their detail-oriented custom painting that has popped up from NAHBS to the Philly Bike Expo. But several years ago they expanded out to making bags and other cycling accessories, and now step it up once more with their newest Tube & Tool Dynamite Roll saddlebag tool roll.

T&T Dynamite Roll under saddle tool roll

The full VéloColour Bicycle Painting and Cycling Goods name gives a better sense of what the Toronto shop is all about. We’ve spotted bikes with all manner of spares strapped under the saddle, and VeloColour’s modern take on the repurposed leather toe strap has already become a popular option. Now with a new compact waterproofed nylon tool roll, you can stash all of your regular spares, and strap it down tight.

Tool rolls are usually pretty basic rectangular affairs, and that tends to work quite well for large rolls stuffed with plenty of tubes & flat tools. But when you are trying to be more compact dealing with wider format multi-tools, a single road tube, and maybe a CO2 canister, everything doesn’t always neatly and securely fall into place under the saddle.

That’s where the new T&T Dynamite Roll comes in. Instead of a basic rectangular roll with many small pockets, the T&T Dynamite simplifies to one larger main pocket, plus flat flaps to roll it all up securely. VeloColour says that it actually becomes more versatile, packing compactly with anything from a 23mm tube up to a 45mm tube – plus room to tire levers, CO2 & multi-tool, and some smaller bits.

The main pocket still gets a thin divider that lets you separate your metal tool and more vulnerable rubber tube. A large top flap lets you tuck down tight over whatever you stuff inside, and the standard roll flap gets a second velcro closure flat pocket that is good for other small items like a set of patches, a spare key, or that emergency banknote.

The $53 USD/$65 CDN bag is almost entirely made from North American materials and sewn in their Toronto workshop. It also includes one of their $8 USD/$10 CDN polyurethane/nylon straps, made for VeloColour by ski maker Voilé. It is available only in all black, and VeloColour are making the first production batch as we type, with deliveries shipping out staring at the end of this week.
