Every January we hear from professional photographer Balint Hamvas as he puts together his annual cyclocross photo retrospective and reaches out to crowdsource its publishing. While he does contract shooting for some brands & teams, as a freelancer his heart is really in the excellent coffee table book he self-publishes each spring.

If you’ve followed along, it’s the same deal he’s been running since the 2011/2012 cross season. This’ll be his seventh annual retrospective of cover elite cross racing. That photo at the top was from the excellent muddy Zeven World Cup where we featured Pro Bike Checks of both race winners and current World Champions Wout van Aert & Sanne Cant.

Now it’s time to head to Kickstarter to support what will be over 240 large format pages of Hamvas’ best photos from the season. In addition to the great visuals, there are also cross racing & team features written by a number of cycling journalists.

The book will set you back £35 as a backer, with options to even get your name included as a supporter or have it signed by one of the new World Champions to be crowned this coming weekend in Valkenburg. Hamvas will keep shooting for the rest of the season to get the full 2017/18 arc of racing. And the books will be published and sent out to supporters in July 2018. But you have to act now to get in on the deal. Crowdfunding runs only until February 11.
