This year at Interbike, there were more helmet brands than ever. One such brand was Nonstop On Wheels or NOW, who – since we last reported on them – has released their XFlow mountain helmet. In addition to the mountain bike option, they’ve also been working with Birdworx to bring designer & customizable skins to their Zappi road helmets.
NOW Helmets XFlow:
The XFlow is NOW Helmets’ first venture into mountain bike protection. It reveals their motorbike history with a bolt-on visor that’s adjustable and removable. Also, its EPS liner and Microshell have 20 vents leading into their Spider Web Airflow Channel system [SWAC]. Plus, the vents are designed in tandem with their aerodynamic system [ESAS] which is wind-tunnel tuned. Its harness uses a ratcheting dial to adjust and has washable and anti-bacterial pads. The $130 build is said to weigh 300g (+/- 5-g with the visor), and is available in five colors.
NOW Helmets & Birdworx:
NOW’s motorbike past can be seen in the seven speed-centric designs from Birdworx. The skins come pre-installed on the Zappi helmet for $250 and conceal the entire helmet. Customized options are available for $30 (1/4 shell) : $50 (1/2 shell) : $60 (full shell). When customizing, graphic design ideas are provided to Birdworx and they take it from there. There is a $50 fee for two in-house developed custom designs including two free revisions.
