The voting is in: Cola Me-Happy is the newest energy gel flavor from GU. After enlisting the help of GU athletes to vote on the next flavor, it was Melissa Bodeau who nominated the winning flavor. We’ve probably all enjoyed the sweet relief that a mid or post ride Coke can provide, so it might not come as much of a surprise that the flavor may work well as an energy gel. It also provides 40mg of caffeine for a cola-like boost, just without the liquid or carbonation…
Going along with the Small Batch flavor concept, even the packaging of the gel is unique. Featuring a number of different scenes of various forms of “play” around the Bay Area, the packaging was inspired by a piece of art by California artist Maggie Tides. Available for a limited time, Cola Me-Happy is only available online and in boxes of 8 gels for $12.00. As usual, the gel is vegan, gluten free, and kosher and 100 calories per packet.
