Any time you have a new bike that will soon be for sale, you want to ensure it has adequate testing. Sure, there’s everything you can test in the lab, but you also need some real world testing as well. It doesn’t get much more real, or intense, then giving a bike to the Iron Cowboy. Who is the Iron Cowboy? Lawrence is probably best known for his 50/50/50 or 50 full distance triathlons in 50 states, in 50 days. That may sound impossible, but he did it. But if you’re referring to a single day, the Iron Cowboy says his ascent of Kilimanjaro on the Solitude was even harder. Obviously, he didn’t clean the whole mountain, and there was a lot of hiking involved, but he did make it to the top on the bike.
The bike itself will see some tweaks for production, but it will still be a 29/27.5+ carbon hard tail with 425mm chainstays. Built around a 120mm travel fork with 1x only drivetrain compatibility, Fezzari says the housing will be changed for the final bikes, and both wheel sizes will be available with pricing starting at $1999 for a Reba NX build with WTB wheels.
It’s also worth noting that Fezzari has a new Love It or Return It 30 day return policy. Where their policy differs from the competition is that if you decide you don’t like the bike in 30 days, Fezzari will pay to return it.
