K-Edge continues to put forth small advancements in the out-front mount category, the latest being an adapter that lets you use any GoPro-style mount to attach your Niterider headlights. More interesting, though, is their tweak to the Race Mounts to let you screw in the Wahoo Bolt cycling computer, making it a “fixed” part of the bike. Doing so means it’s not quickly removable, which they say lets UCI race participants include it on the bike during weigh in, so you can have a lighter overall bike. Last up, their new mountain bike chain guides, which come in multiple mounting varieties to fit most any bike with a 1x drivetrain.

But the whole bike weighs the same. What’s the point?

“Doing so means it’s not quickly removable, which they say lets UCI race participants include it on the bike during weigh in”

Funny, in a bout of sleep deprivation, I pondered posted that exact idea on weight weenies last year and sent it to Team SKY because I thought it would be funny because of their marginal gains policy and everyone thought it wouldn’t fly by the UCI.

@Kyle
Because it lets you race a 6.7kg bike + 100g computer instead of a 6.8kg bike and a 100g computer.

Bike plus computer = 6.8
or
Bike = 6.8 plus computer

Any ETA at all on the NiteRider adapter?

I’m interested in the NiteRider adapter as well, but I’d like to see one for the non-lumina series of lights as well (the pro series of lights). NiteRider uses a different mount between light types.
