It seems like we see a new trail or gravity helmet pop up from Urge Bike Products every few months, most often with their distinctive styling and usually reasonable pricing. But until now all of those new lids were protecting adult size heads. With their new All-In Kids and Actikid lines though, Urge are bringing their same approach to our trail children offering simple feature rich helmets that look cool at an affordable price…

Urge tells that they had wanted to broaden their offerings to kid’s helmets for some time, but had kind of been delaying it for one reason or another. Well the little groms are in luck, as Urge got a bit of a kick to get moving as a new law just went into effect today in their native France that requires all kids under 12 to wear a helmet on the bike. Urge says they were “happy to hear about it” because it’s hard to argue with keeping kids safe, but it also gave them the impetus to move forward with a couple of helmets they had on the drawing board.

All-In Kids

Arguably the cooler of the two new kid’s helmets is the trail or even gravity focused All-In Kids. A sized down version of the adult helmet of the same name, it builds on the look & feel of the trail-riding Endur-O-Matic, but with a construction more up to the task of surviving the rough and tumble life of a child’s helmet.

It uses a hardshell construction to withstand the occasional (OK, regular) drop, while delivering protection with a EPS liner. The all-rounder helmet adds in comfort and performance features, like an adjustable retention system, top, front & rear venting, and even a recycled ABS visor for that all-important cool factor.

The All-in is CE1078 & CPSC certified, now comes in three sizes to fit from 48-60cm heads with different thickness pads to dial in a precise & comfy fit. In four colors, it sells for just 49€ and claims to weigh 445g (still 53€ for the bigger adult All-Ins).

Actikid

The Actikid is more of a dirt jumping or urban helmet. It uses mostly the same safety tech as the All-In but skips the retention system in favor of a simple adjustable strap layout pinned to the recycled plastic hardshell. No visor here; this helmet keeps things simple, which also means a price that hits at just 35€.

The CE/CPSC certified Actikid comes in 4 bright colors, weighs just 350g, and comes in a single XS/S size 48-54cm adjustable with included pads.

I’m jealous at how rad that kid looks. I’m not being sarcastic.
