It’s not often that I get the chance to report on apparel that’s not focused directly at the cycling industry. This roundup doesn’t consist of body squeezing spandex or flashy mountain biking gear. Rather, we’re focusing on multi-use items that may find their way into everyday situations. They include a rejuvenating sleepwear system from Under Armour, a modern poncho from The People’s Poncho, and remastered jeans from Thunderbolt Sportswear…

Under Armour created sleepwear that claims to cut recovery time via far infrared (also known as FIR). Far infrared is a sub section of the infrared spectrum that’s said to penetrate through the body’s tissues resulting in a slight surface temperature increase. All of this leads to relaxing and soothing muscles to decrease recovery time. Though it penetrates the skin the wavelength is non-ionizing so there is no risk of damaging tissue or DNA. All of the Athlete Recovery sleepwear features the TB12 technology that’s made up of a bioceramic print that reflects body heat in the form of infrared light. How could one doubt its viability after seeing Tom Brady’s most recent performance…

Size: S-3XL ; Women’s XS-XL: Prices: $100 (Long Sleeve & Pants), $80 (Short Sleeve & Shorts)

The Peoples Poncho redesigned the common poncho seen around the world. The Hardy poncho has biking in mind by offering internal loops that hook around the bars to cover the arms and knees while riding. Its Polyester build is 100% waterproof and the reflective details offer some visibility at night. The collar and sides each have 3 buttons and the hood gets a drawstring adding to the custom fit. A front zip pocket keeps items dry and allows the poncho to fold into a compact package.

Color: Camo, Black, Navy, Yellow Size: Universal Price: £55

Thunderbolt Sportswear has updated their original jeans for 2017 with the Mark II. It gets Shoeller’s Dryskin & wash-proof Nanosphere treatments that offer breathability, fast drying, abrasion resistance, and oil/water-repellent. It offers 4 way stretch from a nylon//polyester//spandex blend. The straight cut pants also get a hidden zipper to valuables secure in the right back pocket.  Sizes range from 28×30 to 38×32. If you’re like me and have a hard time finding a specific leg length they offer un-hemmed options available for waist sizes ranging from 30 -40.

Colors: Alloy, Blacktop (Grayish), Black. Price: $200

I do believe it’s “Under Armour” with a “u” in armor. [deleted]

Eds: corrected.

Not too relevant to cycling.

Personally, I wouldn’t buy anything from Under Armour given their pro-hunting stance.

Shameless plug but we also do ‘casual’ gear in pure Merino… to order. Not keeping America great but maybe get in now before what we send over gets hit with a 3000% tax!! 🙂

does 11 g have minimum limits for custom jerseys? I’ve been wanting to make a simple vintage style jersey with black sleeves for a while but most places have minimums of 10 jerseys.
