Suspension is getting better all the time – and so are the ways to tune it. Often one of the most advanced, and overlooked parts of your bike, modern suspension is incredibly capable provided it is properly tuned. In order to make that tuning process a little easier, MRP introduced their Ramp Control Cartridges last year. While they have a similar effect as the RockShox Tokens or Fox Volume spacers, the MRP system provides more sensitive adjustability as well as making the process of tuning easier so you don’t have to carry your tools to the trail head.

Instead of removing the top cap and adding or removing volume spacers, once the MRP Ramp Control is installed in the fork you can simply turn the knob to increase or decrease the ending-stroke control and bottom out force. Built right into their new Ribbon suspension fork, MRP is also making the cartridges for other brands of forks and has just expanded their compatibility…

MRP maintains that the Ramp Control cartridges allow for control of the ending stroke without having much of an impact on the initial or mid stroke compared to volume spacers. The chart above highlights the cartridge’s effect at minimum and maximum settings compared to three tokens. Maximum high-speed ending stroke control is said to be similar to four tokens for RockShox models and 4.5 spacers for Fox models.

In December, MRP started shipping Version A which is intended for Fox 34mm suspension forks with FIT4 and Grip dampers (not compatible with TALAS). Now, MRP is continuing the roll out with Model D and Model E which increases the number of compatible RockShox forks. Model D will fit 35mm RockShox short travel forks like the Pike, Lyrik, and Yari at 120/130mm for 29/27.5+ or 120mm for 27.5″ forks. Model E covers 32mm RockShox forks like the Reba, Revelation, SID and Bluto in 100-140mm travel configurations. All RockShox cartridges are compatible with Solo Air forks only.

Check out MRP’s site for complete compatibility. All cartridges are in stock now, and sell for $139.95.

MRPs website says 55g for the cartridge (32mm RS). Does anyone know how much weight is saved when replacing the original solo air units (RS)?

It’s not an air spring. It’s just externally adjustable token system (air volume reducer).
140$ one at that! They must be mad.

I’ve got tokens sitting on my workbench to go in my Fox34. I’m not sure that the ability to adjust the ramping on the fly is something I’d use, but I can see the value for really obsessive types that ride really different trails. Still, at $140….well, I’m just not THAT obsessive!
