Baselayers can be an amazing addition to your cycling wardrobe. They help to keep you dry, help regulate your temperature, and can aid in layering. However, you wouldn’t want to wear most baselayers on their own, especially around town. That seems to be where the Showers Pass Henley steps in. It’s a shirt that you can wear around for your day to day, but it’s also a technical garment that can be worn under other clothing that is packed with technical features…

The Henley isn’t anything new to Showers Pass, but it is in a short sleeve. Crafted from their Bamboo-Merino blend, the two are woven together with one side offering a soft, cool to the skin feel, and the wool making for a warm layer on the other side. Of course the merino wool fibers provide the typical benefits of wool including warmth, moisture wicking, and odor control. The shirt is cut with a long torso to keep it from lifting up in riding position, and uses seamless underarms, raglan sleeves, and flatlock stitching. If you find yourself wearing just the henley, it will also provide a UPF 50+ sun protection rating.

Available in men’s and women’s models in S-XL, the Short Sleeve Bamboo-Merino Henley sells for $75 and is available now.

I highly doubt it’s bamboo in this product is what people might think it is. The blend is most likely Rayon from Bamboo. Usually bamboo is broken down through with a chemical solvent. There is a mechanical way of processing bamboo into fabric but it’s a very time consuming and expensive process and I have yet to see anyone make performance clothing with it.
