Kogel Bearings SRAM Eagle derailleur pulleys with ceramic bearings

Kogel Bearings is expanding their range of ceramic bearing derailleur pulleys to mountain bikes with the upcoming SRAM Eagle models. The wheels are made of aluminum, rolling on Grade 3 ABEC 5 hybrid ceramic bearings with steel races, same as what’s used in their bottom brackets, plus their off road seals to keep gunk out. The upper wheel has 12 teeth and the lower has 14.

They’re not available yet, but Kogel’s giving Bikerumor readers the chance to test them as part of their final testing phase. They have ten pre-production samples and want real rider feedback before pulling the trigger on a larger delivery. Interested?

From Kogel: “You will receive a set of Eagle Pulleys for $60 (less than half of the final retail price) in return for your feedback and some kind words on your social media. All applicants will be considered for future positions as product tester for new developments. Please fill out the application form on the website, add a short description of what makes you qualified to give detailed feedback and what you will do to put the pulleys to the test.”

In addition to the test opportunity, Kogel just launched a new website and is raffling a set of their road derailleur pulleys for every 100 new subscribers to their newsletter.

Why is there no test results on their site? Just because they say it’s faster, doesn’t mean that they are. Rather stick to companies that show actual resutls

So you want riders to PAY you to test your unreleased product, instead of you paying people to test it?

For the regular Joe, EP pricing is pretty good.

In the bike industry it is pretty rare (extremely rare) for non professional product testers to be paid in any way. Also, its a pretty simple product that looks pretty well finished up. It sounds to me that they had a few extra sets of pre-production units that they want to get out in the world at a killer price. You should be so lucky to get this opportunity.

Sounds like a great racket. In exchange for some kinds words makes a positive review seem to be conditional for receiving the product.
