It’s been a few weeks since we last saw Chris Akrigg heading into the woods to ride a bunch of really technical trails in his latest video riding for Mongoose. This time he really focused on seeking out natural features and those surprisingly technical sections to ride, without having to resort to building stunts. It was more about filming what he normally gets out and rides.

But with that comes some complications. Akrigg narrates a behind-the-scenes look at As it Lies wearing his arm in a sling recovering from shoulder surgery to repair some damage he earned out on the trails. He says that most of the shots were really a first look at riding features, but there were a few bits that just didn’t work out. “There’s always one that gets away.” And here it was a big rock outcrop that teased him with rideability until it started to get the better of him…

Don’t fret seeing Akrigg in a sling. He’s got some time off the bike, but has new riding plans in the works, “I can confirm I will be returning…”

I wish Chris the best ! He seems like a super nice guy and incredible rider. It’s also nice to see a video where you get to see the fails along with the clean moves. Chris, heal up soon and produce some more amazing videos !

I second that Akrigg is such an awesome rider, he definitely brings a new perspective on mountain biking. Only a handful of riders are able to do that.
